Como os prometí un día de estos, pronto, voy a colgar algunas fotos para que veais que a pesar de ser ‘haber sido’ un Erasmus no me he estado tocando las pelotillas tanto como parece. La cosa es que a estas alturas uno se pregunta: ¿Y ahora qué?. En 10 días estaré de vuelta en España y una semana después de nuevo Holanda, con trabajo, sin dinero, y con muchas ganas de hacer algo nuevo. Es el momento del cambio, de empezar el Gran Proyecto Final de Carrera, y de conservar las cosas buenas que he ido encontrando en este último curso aquí en Delft. Por cierto, ¿os habéis fijado que mal suena ‘Final’ junto a Proyecto y Carrera? Me gusta ver de vez en cuando fotografías vintage, aún más cuando es de gente que conozco y admiro de una forma o de otra. Para aquellos que sois un poco friki-arquitectos aquí tenéis una de cuando Koolhaas tenía 30, tomada en Central Park, la gran arcadia sintetica de su Delirious New York, publicado ese mismo año. A estas alturas Koolhass había escrito varios guiones y había trabajado como periodista en el Haagse Post y estaba casado hace un par de años con Madelon Vrisendorp. Cumplía diez años titulado de arquitecto, terminaba sus estudios avanzados en Cornell y su oficina de arquitectura cumplia tres años . Faltarían otros cuatro años para Proyecto del Parc de la Villete y justo 14 años para la aparición del Kunsthal , la primera obra construida de OMA. Yo con 26, espero algún día volver a encontrarme con alguna foto de estos años y decir, quién iba a decir por aquella época que estos soñadores cumplirían todas sus metas. Espero estar ahí siempre para verlo.

As I promised you, I’m gonna post some pictures soon for showing to you that I haven’t been touching my balls although being an Erasmus student. The fact of the matter is that one always asks himself at this time of his life: and now, what? I will be going to Spain in 10 days and one week later I will be back again, in Holland, with job, without money and desiring to do something new. It is the moment to change, to start the Great Final Degree Project and what it’s important, to keep and to preserve the good things I have found here in Delft. By the way, have you realized how weird the word ‘Final’ sounds among Project and Degree? I enjoy watching vintage photographs often enough, and even more when they are about people who in some sense I know and I admire. To those of you that are a bit friki-architect I give one photo of Koolhaas being 30 years old, taken at Central Park, the big synthetic Arcadia of his Delirious New York, published that year. By that stage Koolhaas had written several scripts, had worked as journalist in the Haagse Post and he was married with Madelon Vrisendorp since two years before. He was finishing his studies in Cornell and his Architecture Office was three years old, seven years after he was graduated as an architect. Four years after this picture was taken he made the Parc La Villete and 14 years later the Kunsthal was built, the first OMA’s project. Now I am 26 and I hope some day to find one of the current photographs and to think, who was going to say in those days that these dreamers would have all their goals realized. I hope to be always here in order to watch it.

In this moment I have just watched on television the last work of one of my favourite directors of commercials and videoclips. Chris Cunningham follows in the footsteps of David Lynch by shooting a lavish commercial for Gucci’s new fragrance, Flora. And the Donna Summer disco classic ‘I Feel Love’ was re-recorded specifically for the film, more ephemeral, more deeply poetic. Just as a matter of interest, he commercial was shot over four days in Latvia using a field of more than 20,000 fake flowers.

I feel it too, Donna!!!

Grupo Motosierra

Esta semana se ha presentado en sociedad la primera publicación del zine GM [Grupo Motosierra]. Ésta pretende ser una asociación interdisciplinar abierta a todo tipo de colaboradores, y fue creada por Marisol, Mikel y Pepe en algún barecillo de Granada. La idea es organizar eventos y publicar el zine con CD incorporado de regalo, que en principio se venderá en Granada y quién sabe si ampliará fronteras hacia Alicante y otras ciudades internacionales. Para los que no tienen acceso al zine podrán adquirirlo en el Blog y las canciones estarán colgadas en MySpace. Pues eso, el primer número ya tiene vida, disfruten del VERANO.

This week the first publication of the zine GM [Grupo Motosierra] has been launched. This hopes to be an interdisciplinary association open to every kind of contributors, and was created by Marisol, Mikel and Pepe in some lost bar of Granada. The goal is to organize events and to publish the zine with CD music as gift. In the beggining it will be sold in Granada, but maybe, who knows, it will be found in Alicante and other international cities. If you don’t have access to the zine, you can acquire it in the Blog, and the music will be available in MySpace. That’s all in principle, the first number was born, enjoy the VERANO [summer].

3 short love stories [in the subway]

Looking for the short film El Columpio I have found other 2 similar stories of love in the subway. El Columpio, directed by Álvaro Fernández Armero, won the Goya in 1993, and it was very popular in Spain. It is one of my favourites short films, about a boy and a girl who’d like to be together, but they can’t make it because of their shyness. Worth watching, for sure.
